  • The Royal Society's MP Scientists Pairing Scheme, Westminster, London, 2004

The Royal Society's MP Scientists Pairing Scheme aims to build bridges between some of the best research scientists in the country and members of the UK parliament. I spent one week in Westminster shadowing an MP (Mr. Patrick Hall), attending various meetings and gaining first hand experience of how science policy is formed at the House of Commons, Parliament.

  • British Council Franco-British Fellowship, 2004

British Council Franco-British Seminar for Top Young Scientists on Bio-engineering and Medical Imaging, Paris, France, 29 March – 2 April, 2004.

  • Image Processing & Optical Tehnology, Birmingham, UK (IPOT2004)

IPOT, NEC, Birmingham, UK, 11-12 February, 2004. IPOT and Machine Vision are the UK's leading Optical, Photonics and Vision events. IPOT is the definitive industry event for Image Processing & Optical Technology, supported by the BMVA and UKIVA.

Under “SET for BRITAIN” (Science, Engineering and Technology), a special annual Parliamentary Presentation for Britain’s Younger Scientists and Engineers was held on Monday, 17 March 2003 at the House of Commons, Westminster, London. I and my boss Robin Tillett were selected and had the enviable opportunity to present our work in the Terrace Pavilion Room, the House of Commons, where we were joined by other top younger research scientists and about 40 M.P.s to discuss current research and R&D work underway in the UK. The focus of my presentation are (1). “Three-dimensional Imaging of Pigs”; (2). "Three-dimensional Surface Texture Classification".

  • British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC2002), Cardiff, UK, 2 - 5 September, 2002

  • British Machine Vision Association Technical Meeting, London, UK, 1st November, 2000
