We are working on the recovery and classification of metallic machined
surfaces. These samples are extremely specular, making traditional
photometric analysis unfeasible. Three examples of milled surfaces
(with rms values of 12.5, 6.3 and 3.2 micrometers) and their surface
estimates are shown below.
